Farewell to Hyder

Farewell to Hyder Gallery

IMG_1675

I have been selling cards and hosting workshops at Hyder Gallery in downtown Sanford for over a year. After much deliberation I have decided to leave the gallery. The decision was purely financial and I leave with no hard feelings and several happy memories. If you are looking for some art or would like to take an art class I would recommend Hyder. This last week in August is the final week my creations will be at the gallery. As a farewell promotion all items will be $1 off. I will be updating my website and sharing several new creations soon.

Kids Workshop at Hyder

Hello everyone,

I’m sorry for the delay in posting. My summer has been very busy with various activities including our church VBS, company in town, and a kids workshop at Hyder. We did several fun projects and the kids had a great time. Below are the pictures.

First workshop at the new house

First Workshop at the New House

Here is a picture from the workshop. I had a good turn out and we had lots of fun. Below are the two projects we made for $5.

The card on the left was made with elegant eggplant cardstock and the plesant poppies stamp set. The embossed piece is gumball green and embossed with the square lattice embossing folder. The stamped shape was cut out with the apothecary accents framelits in whisper white. The nautical card was made with the By the Tide stamp set stamped in Midnight Muse on whisper white on a crumb cake card.

I liked how these designs turned out so much that I decided to use the same design in calypso coral and riding hood red. I think the set turned out great.

I also used the same collage design to make a nautical set as well. I think these also turned out well.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog. I hope these cards help inspire you to create something awesome.

Recent projects

I hope everyone is doing well and had a wonderful Mother’s Day Weekend. I have stayed very busy completing multiple custom orders this past week. I would love to share with you several of my recent creations.

These first pictures are some shoe cards I made for a mother/daughter tea event. The lady that commisioned them told me they will be used as table centerpieces and doorprizes. The theme of the tea is walking in my mothers footsteps. The stamp says, “Some people  come into our lives and quietly stay. Others stay for a while leaving footprints in our hearts and we are never the same.” I included some pictures from the tea party since I forgot to take pictures of the different designs before the party.

The first workshop at my new house was a huge success. We made two lovely cards and had a great time. I look forward to seeing you at my next one.

Saturday May 18th is the next workshop at Hyder Gallery. The cost is only $20 for materials and we will be making four projects. These projects include an embossed butterfly card, treat holder, and easel card. Please rsvp early this will be one you won’t want to miss.

Here is a simple technique I recently discovered. The goal was to center the name in the oval punch. I ran the die through the big shot and taped the sides of the paper to the die. Then I centered my name and ran it through again.  See picture. Enjoy 🙂

Brayered Fun

I have been having fun working on some new brayered beach scenes. I have enjoyed adding embossing on top of my brayered looks to give more definition. These are some of my recent creations using this technique. One is a card I made for some friends and the other is framed art, I recently added to my works at Hyder Gallery in Sanford.
