Happy Halloween Week

Happy Halloween Week!!

I hope everyone has a fun and safe week. If you still need an idea for Halloween goody bags than this is the post for you. These are simple and easy, and will be a big hit with the kids.

To make these I used the following:

Pumpkin pie and basic black paper

Old olive grossgrain ribbon

brads and brad punch

paper snips

Fancy favor bigz die and Big Shot

I cut out the die on my big shot in the pumpkin pie and then glued the sides together. The next step is to cut a length on ribbon for the handle. Punch two holes on either side and attach the ribbon by pushing the brad through the ribbon and holes. For the face I used some paper scraps and my paper snips to cut some shapes for the face. Cutting the shapes is easier if you use your punches to make various shapes. There are so many traditional pumpkin faces you can be original with your designs and have fun.

Cute Cat

Countdown to Halloween 5

I don’t know about you, but when I think of Halloween, there are lots of iconic images that come to mind and one of those is black cats. I wanted to make a cute realistic black cat that would be good for Halloween or for one of my friends that loves cats. Here is what I came up with.

Here is a list of the Stampin’ Up punches that I used.

Ears – Large and extra Large tag punches cut sideways

Eyes and sides of mouth – Blossom Petals builder

Eye center – 3/4” circle

Bottom mouth – 1” circle top cut off

Nose center – owl punch chest- cut from the center at an angle

Face – Oval die

Neck – 2 1/2” circle cut in half

Countdown to Halloween

It’s that time of year again where kids put on cute costumes and go door-to-door begging for candy. Normally people don’t make cards for Halloween, but I decided to try to do a card or new project each week leading up to halloween to share some fun ideas and to get me into the habit of regularly posting. Here is my first fun idea its a spiderman card, which would be good for a variety of occasions.

To make this card you will need the following Stampin’ Up items:

– riding hood red and not quite navy blue, whisper white, and basic black.

-spider web embossing folder

-full heart punch

-brayer

Run the riding hood red through the embossing folder in the big shot. Then lightly brayer black ink over the red to make the spider webs pop.  Using the heart punch, punch out a heart in white. Cut the heart in half and glue the halfs on a scrap of black. Cut out around the halfs to give the eyes a nice black edge. Glue the eyes down on the embossed piece and then glue the whole face onto the not quite navy card.

Enjoy 🙂

Recent Card Order

I recently was commissioned to make an assortment of 50 cards for an IT department. They wanted a variety of colors and themes that would be appropriate for guys and girls. I decided to use a circuit board stamp I bought in Canada and the retired Lots of Bots Stampin’ Up set. I really like some of the color combos.
